Thank you so much for clearing this up! It makes me sick that Shoppers would actually pretend that Smashbox production was cruelty free. Even though they aren't killing the animals, they are still involved in the process. Thank you for this!

The information above re: Smashbox Make-up brushes is INCORRECT according to Smashbox. I heard the exact same information from a Shopper's Drug Mart Employee. It seemed a rather cost prohibitive venture (to me) to raise animals SOLEY for their hair and only brush them ONCE a year! Therefore I decided to contact Smashbox directly, myself. According to the Smashbox representative that emailed me in reply, their hairs are collected as a 'bi-product". After further inquiry, that term was defined further: the hairs are collected from animals that are being slaughtered for human consumption. However, given the variety of hairs that they use in the makeup brush line, I have asked for further clarification regarding the entire line-up of hair types and in which countries these animals are slaughtered (since to the best of my knowledge, not all the hairs they use are from animals slaughtered for human consumption in N. America (ie: I am left wondering if the countries doing the slaughtering are in fact cruelty-free). Those details aside, I am wondering how and where this misinformation has begun and been perpetuated since the Smashbox representative was clear that this information was incorrect.

I would also love to see some kind of eye makeup tutorial that goes with these pink lips! I just got a shade (country rose) from Avon that I absolutely love; it's more of a darker pink. I'm not sure how to do my eyes with lips that stand out, so a little guidance would be wonderful! :D

Hey, I'm Verity :) I regularly watch your Makeup tutorials on YouTube and I really like them! I also like your Reviews on YouTube as they are helpful too. I am in my last year at high school and when I leave I am going to a Hair & Beauty collage in my home town (England). I do not have a brush collection yet and my makeup is pretty limited to what you have. I really want to practice different things with Makeup and hopefully one day be very skilled with what I do with makeup. Christmas is coming up and my parents are happy to let me spend £300 in MAC to set off my collection. If you were me what would you buy from the MAC store with £300? (Brushes, Eyeshadows, Foundation, Concealer, Lipstick/Gloss, Blushes) Please could you reply back to my email: vezzaa-x@hotmail.co.uk To let me know what different items you would buy so I have something off each of list I mentioned. Thank you so so much & Keep up the amazing work! xxx

You DON'T have to be a pro member to buy pro products. (1) You can call and place an order for pro products, without membership. Number is on the MACpro.com website. (2) You can go to a MAC Pro Store, without membership, and purchase the products, or go to a MAC that carries pro products, wihtout membership, and purchase pro products. Neither asks for a membership card number or to see one. THis applies ot the U.S., unsure of anywhere else. ;)
